Key Lane comes to life this weekend with a pair of big events:

    Sunday Khanacross

Entries online via the Motorsport Australia Portal: PAC October Khanacross

Please note that entries lodged for the event originally scheduled for 24/9 will automatically be carried forward.

A massive amount of work has been carried out on the grounds in recent weeks, and they should be in tip-top shape for the event.

For the first time, we plan to utilise our new permanent track, combined with a link section of grass, ensuring a fantastic layout for all competitors!

For further details, please contact: Leon Prosser on 0407 552047 or selica.ta22@gmail.com

    Saturday Junior Training

Due to popular demand, we aim to run a session for club member juniors who have the appropriate Motorsport Australia licence, to bring them up to speed ahead of upcoming events, with training on both the motorkhana and khanacross sections.

    Time: 10am – 2pm

Bookings are essential, please contact Steve Dansie for details on dansiesme@bigpond.com

    See you at Key Lane!

When: This Sunday, October 1st, 9am start

    Where: 21 Key Lane, Pakenham

Sausage Sizzle: Held at around 12pm for all volunteers

With two events this month, the main focus of this working bee will be to make the Motorkhana area, as well as the parking area around the clubhouse, look its best. With the prospect of the weather holding out, we are also looking at rolling or smudging the paddock.

Have you ever wanted to learn how to use a tractor? Our experienced team can absolutely show you how!

If anyone has a ride-on mower or a zero turn, it would be amazing to have you along – we have temporary access to the far back paddock, and it would be awesome to get that area under control with summer fast approaching.

    Vehicle Maintenance

The little red ride-on Coxy needs to be re-wired – if you have experience in this area, you would be a tremendous asset to the team.

    Other Jobs

All of the usual mowing, whipper snippering, tidying up around the grounds and the clubhouse have to be carried out, while we are also putting a big effort in to improving vehicular access around the grounds in various key places.

If you have a skillset, trade, or ability to do anything that you think would, could, or should benefit the club, please let us know. We will be more than happy to put you to use!

Also, remember, you can get your red plate vehicle paperwork signed off at Working Bees.

If you would like any more information, please feel free to call Anthony on 0414733621

Save the date: To be confirmed shortly – Sunday, October 22nd may be required to prep the grounds for the G5 Motorkhana the following Sunday, otherwise, please pencil in Sunday, November 5th.

Where:            Pine Grove Hotel, 45-51 Stoney Creek Rd, Beaconsfield Upper

    When:             Monday 25th September

                            6:30pm for dinner and drinks

  • 4 Sep 2023 5:33 PM | Mark Walker

    9am – 3pm

12pm sausage sizzle for all volunteers

The main goals for the day include slashing the Khanacross area and anywhere else possible. Roll the khanacross track and motorkhana area. Ideally, these machines need to be used all day, and there will be someone there to teach you how to operate either.

    Vehicle Maintenance

    * JD is currently the only tractor running, we need to fit the big slasher to him.

    * The little ride-on mower (Coxy) needs to be re-wired.

    * We still need to find Burnie a new home, clean up around him, and gather all his belongings/ components, so we can use the Facebook marketplace to help him find a new home.

Other fun and exciting jobs include:

    * Road making

    * Basic general maintenance, sniping, poising, & mowing.

    * Removing all rocks/rubbish around the clubhouse.

    * Filling in all holes in mortar around the clubhouse, vermin-proofing it.

    * Creating better access to the car park area, mowing, crossover, removing a few fence posts.

    * Building a fence around the septic thing, so no one drives over it.

    * Attack the mystical mystery mound of stuff, so we can work out what grass has grown over. Poison or snip, then remove the mound, if possible.

If you have a skillset, trade, or ability to do anything that you think would, could, or should benefit the club, please let us know. We will be more than happy to put you to use!

Save the Date – the following working bee is scheduled for Sunday October 1st

If you would like any more information, please feel free to call or message Anthony on 0414 733 621.

    Working Bee This Weekend

When: This Sunday, August 6th, 9am start

    Where: 21 Key Lane, Pakenham

Sausage Sizzle: Held at around 12pm for all volunteers

The main priority for this working bee is again general mowing and poisoning along fence lines, reclaiming the area near the silo and around the containers, slashing the paddock next to the Clubhouse, plus removing as much scrap metal as possible.

    Vehicle maintenance tasks:

    • The little ride-on mower has a suspected electric gremlin – are there any mower whisperers in the club?
    • Likewise, JD the tractor needs a cuddle regarding its fuel supply.
    • Also, we still need to find Burnie the Tractor a new home – we need to clean up around him, and gather together all of his belongings and components, so that we can list him on Marketplace.

Other fun and exciting jobs include:

    • Removing all rocks/rubbish around the Clubhouse.
    • Filling in all holes in the mortar, vermin proofing the Clubhouse.
    • Clean the toilet blocks.
    • Attack the mystery mound of stuff, so we can work out what grass has grown over, and remove items as required.
    • Start/empty the fire vehicle pump, and replace put some fresh water into the system.
    • Ongoing fire extinguisher/ battery hunt. Bonus points if you bring your own old car battery for the club to turn into funds!

If you have a skillset, trade, or ability to do anything that you think would, could or should benefit the club, please let us know. We will be more than happy to put you to use.

If you would like any more information, please feel free to call Anthony on 0414733621

Save the date: The next working bee will be held on Sunday the 10th of September.
