Khanacrosses are essentially the big brother of motorkhanas.
Longer, less technical circuit layouts held at relatively higher speeds, the discipline is proving to be hugely popular with competitors, who can push themselves and their machines to the limit.
The ultimate result of a khanacross is determined by the best cumulative time of the different runs at the end of the day, with vehicles split into different classes, to ensure a battle within a battle for all.
Khanacross is a perfect gateway to autocross competition, rally sprints and ultimately rallying, with many competitors having graduated up the ranks over the years.
A few of the key features of khanacrosses include:
- At the Pakenham Auto Club, we have a range of dirt/grass circuit configurations that we can adapt for khanacross events
- Some events run on a sole layout, others are run on multiple courses, meaning that competitors have to adapt to the differing challenges on the run
- The spirit of the competition is one car against the clock, with no other vehicles in close proximity during runs
- Khancrosses are a very popular discipline for our junior competitors aged 12-17
- Special PAC-owned cars can be made available to hire for eligible junior competitors, pending availability, lowering the barriers of entry for new participants
- You can share cars - many families choose to share their car across multiple drivers
- You can use your road car or any other well-presented, safe car that is in compliance with Motorsport Australia’s regulations, through to thoroughbred competition machines
- All participants are required to wear an approved helmet and be suitably attired
- All cars must be fitted with a compliant fire extinguisher
- Good news! There is no reversing in khanacrosses
- Come and try, plus test and tune events are held regularly
- Khanacross events are held at various levels throughout Australia, with Pakenham members regularly testing their skills against others in a wide range of settings
- The Pakenham Auto Club is highly active in the Group 5 scene, which sees our members go up against other clubs in the region
- All participants require a Motorsport Australia Speed Licence or above and must be member of a Motorsport Australia-affiliated car club, such as the Pakenham Auto Club
